When your favorite coffee mug shatters into a bazillion pieces or that wobbly chair finally gives out, you need an adhesive that can tackle the job without making a mess. Sticky situations call for serious glue – Gorilla Super Glue vs. Gel.

Gorilla Super Glue vs. Gel: What’s The Difference?
The key difference between Gorilla Super Glue vs. Gel is: Gorilla Super Glue Gel is a thicker and more controllable formula than our original Gorilla Super Glue. Itās great for projects where precision is key. Due to the gel-like consistency it requires shaking vigorously (with the cap on) before each use to remix the formula.1
My Hands-on Test of Gorilla Super Glue Gel
I have pieces that I glued together years ago with this brand, and they’re still stuck together, so if that doesn’t say long-lasting glue, then I don’t know what will!
ā Pros
Also, I do get it on my hands a lot when I do this (whoops), but if you just wait and don’t pick at it, it’ll come off in a day or so.
Here’s how I’m using this Gorilla Super Glue Gel.
All you need is a small amount of glue, just enough to hold the plant in place until the roots attach to the wood.
So I’ll just go ahead and attach the rest of these plants to the wood. These plants will spread and eventually cover this wood completely. And here it is with everything glued on, ready to go back in the tank.
Consistent Great Quality
I always buy this brand when purchasing super glue gel, and each time it has the same consistent great quality. The gel glue is a lot better for getting stuff to stay together because it doesn’t run nearly as much and can get a bit tacky before you press two pieces together again. It also is cleaner for those same reasons, since you won’t have extra glue dripping from the seam you are closing.
Beginner-Friendly
Gorilla Super Glue Gel is great for how well the final bond is. Definitely beginner-friendly as far as super glues go, again for the reasons already mentioned. The dry times will vary based on temperature, humidity, and a few other factors. If you need something to dry fast, though, you can try the mix of baking soda and cyanoacrylate(Gorilla Glue Gel) for a quick and still very strong bond.
Versatility
When I realized that it could be used for plastic as well, I thought I’d give it a go since it always did the job for woodworking. I ordered two bottles of this stuff and received it in about one day. I used it on my SteelSeries Arctis Pro headset that I got with the game DAC that goes with it.
I was really upset when one earpiece on the headset decided to crack and split on the top where the grey link is located that attaches the earpiece to the headband. I did not want to have to spend another $200+ on another headset that would need to be the same one so I could still use my game DAC.
So I decided to give this glue a try and try my best to glue the split back together and then glue the top of the earpiece itself to the grey link that is attached to the headband. Let me tell you, this glue has never failed me; it worked so well! It holds very good (trust me, I tried to pull it apart). I saved myself another $200+ thanks to this glue!
āCons
I will say, depending on the amount of glue you are using, keep in mind the more you use, the longer it will take to harden, but it will. Also, wear gloves when using. I was stupid and did not do that, got some on my finger, now I feel like I’m wearing artificial skin. One last thing, I saw a few bad comments on this, but one stuck out the most to me. Some people said that it did not even glue the package it came in back together. Well, there is nothing about this glue that says it will work on cardboard. Don’t let stupid comments like that scare you away from this product.

My Hands-on Test of Gorilla Super Glue
Let me tell you about my experiences.
ā Pros of Gorilla Super Glue
I had a small issue with my air mattress. The tape I initially used didn’t stick because the mattress surface is made of a non-plastic material.
However, when I applied the Gorilla Glue on top of the mattress surface, it created a surface that the Gorilla Tape could stick to permanently. It worked like a charm every time. But then, disaster struck. I accidentally tore a massive 14-inch tear in the mattress. I thought it was beyond repair, but I decided to give the same technique a try. To my surprise, the combination of Gorilla Glue and Gorilla Tape sealed the tear in under 10 minutes. It may not look pretty, but it holds up to my full weight, and I can use the mattress again. These two products combined are simply amazing.
Strong Adhesion
Moving on to another repair, I had a destroyed slate clock case that needed fixing. I initially tried epoxy, but it was too thick for the joints. That’s when I used Gorilla Gel super glue. This glue worked wonders, creating a strong joint without any clamping required. I found that it worked perfectly by simply applying a couple of drops, holding the pieces together for 10-20 seconds, and it was done. Just remember to clean the nozzle and screw the cap on after each use to prevent clogging.
Repair Sunglasses
I had a pair of sunglasses with bifocal readers that needed fixing. One of the eyepieces had separated from the base. With just a small dot of Gorilla Super Glue, I was able to create a strong bond without any clamping. After letting it dry for 24 hours, the sunglasses were back in rotation, and I finally had two functioning pairs again. I’ve tried other super glue brands in the past, but they always disappointed me.
āCons of Gorilla Super Glue
On the downside, I must mention that the glue does expand a bit, requiring some cleanup. Also, I’ve had an issue with the glue drying up if left with the cap securely on for a few months. However, the packaging of the glue is well-designed and prevents it from drying up in the bottle, unlike some other products I’ve tried.
