Can you recommend some adhesives for bricks?

✅Loctite PL 500 is Thick

The first thing I noticed was the thick, almost paste-like consistency coming out of the 10oz tube. It’s a light yellow-brown color that blends in nicely with typical masonry materials. While it doesn’t seem super sticky at first, that’s deceiving – once it cures, this stuff basically welds bricks and stone together permanently.

I used PL 500 for a few different outdoor projects around my house. First up was repairing a section of cultured stone veneer that had fallen off my fireplace over time. With some old mortar still stuck to the stone and fireplace, I simply applied a generous amount of PL 500 and pressed the stone back into place. That adhesive grip is no joke – it locked that piece down solid.

Next, I used a few tubes to adhere about 25 square feet of brick along the top of a retaining wall. The thick formula made it easy to get full coverage and work that brick into place. Even after it rained overnight, I was able to continue working the next day with no adverse effects on the bond.

❌Isn’t the Ideal for Smaller Projects

For smaller projects like installing PVC crown molding or ceiling medallions indoors, this probably isn’t the ideal product since it’s intended for heavy outdoor masonry. But for anything involving real brick, stone, or concrete, PL 500 is an incredibly strong adhesive that creates a permanent bond.

Once this cures, there’s pretty much no separating whatever you’ve glued together. You’d need to use tools like chisels, hammers or very sharp knives to try prying or cutting apart any bricks bonded with PL 500. So measure twice because this adhesive means business!
