How to fix masking tape?
Just Microwave it! For only 10 seconds, it softens the adhesive just enough to peel the tape nicely off the roll.

How to remove popsocket adhesive?
Well, yes, the popsocket residue can be annoying. I’m gonna show you how to remove a busted pop socket backing from your phone when you can’t replace it. It’s really simple, no sweat.
Grab any card you’ve got—credit, debit, rewards, whatever—and be careful not to wreck it. To be safe, I’m using an old restaurant card that I can replace if needed. Now, here’s the deal:
Slide your fingernail under the loose pop socket. Mine’s been taken off a bunch of times, so it’s already loose. Push the card in and wiggle it around until it pops off. Trust me, I’ve removed like 20 to 30 of these suckers from my phone and case.
And even when you do it perfectly, sometimes it’s hard to get rid of the residue. So I’ve written a guide on how to remove popsokcket adhesive with more powerful methods.
How to glue a puzzle for framing?
It’s all about the adhesive you use. Don’t put a puzzle together just to take it apart. Do this instead. I’d recommend using Mod Podge.
Apply the glue: Start applying Mod Podge to the back of the puzzle using a foam brush or a flat brush. Begin in one corner and work your way across the entire puzzle, making sure to cover the entire surface evenly.
Let it dry: Once you’ve applied the glue, let the puzzle dry completely. This can take several hours or even overnight.
What epoxy would you recommend for a cracked cast iron stove grill?
I received this email from a reader. It says:
I have a cast iron stove grill that has cracked. What epoxy would you recommend best?
Thank you
Based on therequirement for an adhesive that can withstand heat from grills and provide strong bonding to metal, I would recommend considering the following epoxy options:
Blue Magic 18003 High Temperature Metal Repair: Welds cracks and holes in iron and steel; Withstands temperatures to 2400 degrees Fahrenheit; Strength increases with heat
I had a positive experience with Blue Magic 18003 on my grill. Due to a wind incident, my grill had a significant 1/4 inch crack that measured approximately 5 inches in length. I applied it to the crack and sanded the affected area, which effectively filled the large crack. However, the smaller hairline cracks were not able to adhere as they lacked a surface to bond to. The application process involved mixing the product, smearing it (using my finger yielded the best results), and allowing it to dry.
Aremco’s Pyro-Putty®: Pyro-Putty 2400 is a ceramic and stainless steel filled, high temperature, thermally conductive paste used to bond, seal and repair defects up to 3/8″ in cross-section in cast iron, steel and stainless steel components and structures used in automotive, truck, marine, and industrial applications to 2000°F (1093°C).
Traditional welding may not always be suitable and can even cause further damage. That’s where high-temperature putty comes into play, offering a favored solution for repairing defects in heat-intensive applications. By using a high-temperature putty, you can avoid the complete disassembly and removal of the part, reducing costs and downtime. Technicians can carry out the repairs directly on-site, minimizing labor expenses and travel time.
To ensure a strong bond between the substrate and the high-temperature putty, proper surface preparation is crucial. Clean all surfaces thoroughly, removing oil, grease, dirt, and rust with the appropriate tools. This will increase the adhesive area and enhance the bond. For metals exposed to seawater or saline solutions, a high-pressure water jet can be used to remove salts before applying the putty.
