After watching this YouTube video, I was impressed by the variety of Dollar Tree floral hacks and DIYs that Katelyn shared. Throughout the video, she demonstrated several creative ways to utilize inexpensive floral stems, greenery, and succulents from Dollar Tree to create beautiful home decor pieces.
One of my favorite projects was the blue jean pocket wall hanging. Katelyn used a square Dollar Tree sign as the base, covered it with scrapbooking paper, and created a faux leather pocket to hold some flowers. She added a fun touch by drawing faux stitching around the edges of the pocket with a silver paint marker. The result was an adorable and unique wall hanging perfect for spring and summer.
Katelyn also shared a great tip about using floral perfume to spritz fake floral arrangements and greenery before hosting a party or special event. She mentioned how fragrances can make a space feel more inviting and cozy, and how scents can evoke memories. She introduced Scent Bird, a subscription service that allows you to try various designer fragrances at an affordable price.
Another project that caught my eye was the hanging succulent arrangement. Katelyn paired a black napkin ring with a painted bamboo ring and tied them together with jute twine. She then attached various succulents and greenery pieces to the bottom using a combination of jute twine and hot glue. The finished product was a gorgeous hanging arrangement that would look stunning in any home.
Katelyn also demonstrated how to transform a simple metal flower pot from Dollar Tree into a beautiful hanging planter. She drilled holes in the pot, smoothed out the edges with sandpaper, and then attached boho-style twine ribbon through the holes. She filled the planter with greenery picks from Walmart, creating a lovely and versatile piece.
Lastly, Katelyn showcased how to upgrade a store-bought planter using an assortment of small greenery stems and flowers from Dollar Tree and Walmart. By adding these extra elements, she created a fuller, more vibrant arrangement that looked much more expensive than it actually was.
Overall, I found this video to be informative and inspiring. Katelyn’s creativity and ability to transform inexpensive items into beautiful home decor pieces were impressive. Her clear explanations and helpful tips made the projects seem achievable for anyone interested in crafting and DIY projects.
