The VHB tape is designed to adhere well to plastics like ABS, as well as painted metal surfaces like you’ll find under the dashboard. It forms a really strong bond, so you can be confident your dashboard cover will stay securely in place.
This tape is also highly heat resistant, which is important for parts inside the cabin where temperatures can get quite high. The modified acrylic adhesive is durable and will maintain its grip even with temperature fluctuations under the hood.
Additionally, the VHB tape is highly conformable thanks to its foam core. That means it will flex and mold to the shape of your dashboard, filling in any small gaps or surface irregularities for a tight seal all around.
The Super Strength Molding Tape is a good product, but it seems better suited to exterior auto trim applications. The VHB tape is your best bet for attaching that ABS dashboard cover inside your vehicle.
