B7000 vs Gorilla Glue: What’s The Difference?

When it comes to curing, B7000 grabs on crazy fast – we’re talking seconds. Gorilla Glue is more of a slow burn, taking a few hours to reach max strength. So if you need a bond ASAP, B7000 is your best bet.

My Hands-on Test: B7000

B7000 adhesive
My Galaxy S10+ back cover just came off (maybe left a few too many times in the car during the Arizona summers?). But I applied B7000 around the edge, joined the phone and back, and placed the phone between two flat wood blocks (make sure they’re perfectly flat) using a woodworker’s bar clamp (not TOO tight) for 24 hours.

✅Pros

Good as new. One tiny tube is more than enough. It’s easy to use with the pinpoint tip, which also keeps the tip clear. Works great! No cleanup needed. Dries completely in 24 hours.

versatility of B7000

Awesome Fine Tip

B7000 was a real surprise. It’s hyped as a resin glue, but after doing some research, it’s really a crazy super glue type of adhesive (b7000 glue vs super glue). The fine tip is awesome. The small tubes are easy to manage and need very little pressure to deliver the glue. The pin that fits inside the tip works perfectly to stop clogging from dried glue. There are still some REALLY fine “hairs” of glue to deal with. It is like E6000 (b-7000 vs e6000 E6000 vs. B7000), only much less annoying. I did open a window beside me while I was working with it, but there’s really very little odor at all. Also, I did wear plastic gloves (which I would always recommend unless you’re working with a water-based adhesive).

Versatility

Works like a charm on all my craft projects. Beads, ribbon, charms, plastic, rocks, you name it! I especially like the very narrow nozzle tip that lets me get the glue into tight spaces. Still need a well-ventilated area when using, but it’s definitely better than E-6000.

Jewelry Making

B7000 is wonderful for jewelry making. Once your set is glued on, it stays on. I love the small tip! I use it not just for jewelry but for craft projects too. If only the tip would come out a little wider. Maybe offering two types of tips? I like this better than most brands out there. While it takes time to come off your fingers if you get some on, it DOES come off. And that’s important!

❌Cons

Although it holds pretty well within the first minute or so, it may take longer to fully dry and set.

FAQ:

Q: Can B7000 adhere to aluminum?

A: I’ve successfully used it to bond a cabochon into a stainless steel tray bezel.

Q: Is it suitable for sealing a crack on a phone screen?

A: It works perfectly as a glue.

Q: Would this be suitable for jewelry? I also do kumihimo, so would it work for the cords too?

A: Absolutely. I’ve used it on jewelry and suede, so I believe it would be effective on cords as well. This has quickly become my favorite adhesive for crafts.

Q: Will it adhere to faux leather?

A: Yes, it will definitely adhere within 20 minutes, but for optimal hardness, it’s best to let it set for 24 hours.

While I haven't personally used it on polystyrene, I have used it to affix LED light strips to tiles. I believe it should work, but I recommend not solely relying on my word.

I do not recommend using Gorilla White Gorilla Glue for car rear-view mirror repairs. You might want to take a look at this one that I've tested:https://www.stickyaides.com/a/the-best-glue-for-hard-plastics/#car-mirror-plastic-repair

My Hands-on Test: Gorilla Glue White

Gorilla High Strength Glue White Glue
I purchased the Corilla Glue after my office chair’s wheel joint broke. I stumbled upon it while browsing YouTube for a solution and decided to give it a try. Although I had never heard of it before, I thought it was worth a shot.

✅Pros: Gorilla Glue

To my surprise, it worked perfectly! It saved me from having to buy a new chair, which was a great relief. Encouraged by the positive results, I also used this glue to fix a broken crossbar on my rocking chair, and it has been working flawlessly ever since.

Woodworking

When it comes to woodworkingemoticon - clamp, this glue has proven to be a versatile adhesive. It works exceptionally well for miters on moldings and various other materials. Any excess glue that squeezes out can be easily cleaned up once it has dried. However, I’ve found that attempting to clean it while still wet can be messy, especially if the moldings are already finished.

Fix A Drawer

In addition to my woodworking projects, I also utilized Gorilla glue to fix a drawer. While I initially forgot about its spreading effect, which is worth noting, it turned out fine since the glue was applied to the underside of the drawer. If you’re working on something where you don’t want the glue to be visible, I recommend using Clear Gorilla Glue instead. However, I did discover that Gorilla glue does not adhere well to gourds. It takes a while to dry, so patience is essential. On the bright side, it does provide strong and reliable bonding, and the price is reasonable.

❌Cons: Gorilla Glue

It may not adhere strongly to certain plastics or gourds, for example. It’s always a good idea to test the glue on a small, inconspicuous area before applying it to the entire project.

FAQ: Gorilla Glue

Q: Can Gorilla Glue be used on Styrofoam?

A: It is effective on foam materials, so it should work on Styrofoam as well. Just like Tacky GlueAileen's Original Tacky Glue(how to open tacky glue).

Q: After drying, does Gorilla Glue become transparent? Can I trust it to glue a broken coffee mug handle?

A: Gorilla Glue dries with a clear finish, but it’s advisable to use it in moderation. Once dry, it expands and forms white bubbles.

Q: Will it work on drywall?

A: It can adhere to various surfaces, but it tends to leave behind a messy residue with bubbles.

Q: Does Gorilla Glue have a runny consistency?

A: Gorilla White Glue has a viscosity ranging between 4,000 and 7,000 cps.

Q: Can I use Gorilla Glue to seal a small irrigation joint inserted into a garden hose?

A: We do not recommend using White Gorilla Glue for this application.

Q: Can I use Gorilla Glue to stick metal drawer handles to my dresser?

A: In my experience, no. I tried using it to glue two pieces of wood together, but it foamed up and didn’t stick to either piece.

Q: Is it water-soluble?

A: Gorilla White Glue is not water-soluble.

Q: Will it hold leather to leather on a pair of boots?

A: It is doubtful, and even if it does, it won’t last long. The adhesive hardens and lacks flexibility, making it unsuitable for holding shoe or boot soles.

Q: Can I use Gorilla Glue to adhere wood panels to Ikea cabinet doors? The doors are made of particle board covered in white laminate.

A: White Gorilla Glue is suitable for wood surfaces.

Q: Which one is stronger for metal, Gorilla Glue or epoxy?

A: Gorilla Glue is generally strong, but the choice depends on what you are trying to glue. You might also want to read e6000 vs epoxy. Different glues and epoxies serve specific purposes, so it’s essential to use the right product for your needs.

Q: I have a brick planter with a spreading crack. Can Gorilla Glue flow down a 1/2 inch crack that is 2 feet long without running out?

A: White Gorilla Glue can be used on brick surfaces, but it may not fill gaps or cracks effectively.

Q: Does Gorilla Glue work on PLA plastic?

A: Clear Gorilla Glue is suitable for use on PLA plastic.

Q: I want to glue a metal knife magnet strip to a wall covered in ceramic tiling. Is this the right adhesive?

A: While Gorilla Glue can bond metal to ceramic, it may not be the ideal adhesive for this particular application. It’s best to use a strong adhesive specifically designed for bonding metal to ceramic surfaces. You can consult with your local hardware store or adhesive manufacturer to find a suitable product for your needs.
