Stubborn Adhesive Residues on My Truck Window
I also tried Goo Gone on some stubborn adhesive residues on my truck window, which I had been unsuccessfully trying to scrape away for years. I was skeptical, but I applied the product and let it sit for a few minutes as directed. To my amazement, the residue came off in seconds! I couldn’t believe how easy it was compared to all the trial and error I had gone through before. I would rate this experience 10/10.
I applied some Goo Gone with a cloth and waited a couple of minutes before scraping the tape off easily with a plastic scraper. I cleaned it all off with warm soapy water, and all was well.
Removing Duct Tape Residue
I also found it to be effective in removing residue from

However, there were times when Goo Gone didn’t work as well as I expected it to. I tried soaking a surface for 30+ minutes to remove some packing tape residue 
and really only succeeded in making the adhesive wet again. It became jelly and still stuck to everything. I spent an additional 40 minutes using a scraping tool to remove the adhesive that refused to come off with a hot wet towel. So, I’d say the more accurate description of Goo Gone is that it helps make the chore of manually removing tough adhesives from surfaces “slightly easier” than if you tried to do it without.

While waiting the recommended three minutes, the finish started to pull away from the materials underneath. It worked great on real hardwood floors and furniture, but be cautious with laminate hardwood.

I did find that Goo Off had a strong chemical smell that bothered me even though I was using it in a well-ventilated area. For those sensitive to chemicals, I would recommend using a respirator mask and disposing of any rags in a plastic bag outside. Except from goo gone, you can also consider 3M spray adhesive remover.
It’s easy to use, and as the instructions suggest, I didn’t have to apply too much pressure. I simply let the product do the work, and it effortlessly removed the adhesive. I had a lot of double-stick adhesive on my truck from removing a wind deflector, and this was the only product that successfully removed it. It tackled the 3M residue with ease, leaving no trace behind.
